What Is The Solution To Treat Pain Caused By A Leg Injury?

hello, my dad recently slipped and fell, after which he couldn't put his full weight on his right leg. On further viewing we noticed the left side of the muscle had shifted further to the left than usual, in comparison to his left leg. Thus leaving a hollow section such that my finger can press right in. Do you have any idea what has happened??

Thanks in advance

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

This seems to be a case of either muscle rupture or partial muscle detachment.
Firstly get an Xray of the leg done.
Complete rest with leg elevation, anti inflammatory medicines and ice packs to the injured area should be done.
Muscle ruptures are diagnosed on MRI.
You might want to get it done in case the Xray finding is normal and the hollowness persists.

I hope my suggestion is helpful.
Good luck.
