General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

From what you refer I can say that your symptoms might be related to COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). This disease is causing the cough.

As for the muscle spasm I think that it is caused by arthritis(Arthritis accompanied by osteoporosis).

To get the right treatment you need the following tests;
1. Complete blood count.
2. Fibrinogen test.
3. Urine test.
4. Pulmonary X-ray.
5. Spirometry(pulmonary function test).

The results will help your doctor in determining the needed treatment.

Contact your pulmonologist and your rheumatologist.

I hope this information is helpful.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
