What Is The Treatment For Cough?

Hi Dr. Grief:



My son is 20 months old and he has severe coughing and a runny nose for 5 days. He can't sleep throughoput the night due to coughing like an adult. He also had periopdic fever. Is there anything I could do to reduce his coughing? Thanks,

Hi,
It seems that your child is having acute respiratory tract infection.
He might require one course of antibiotic medicine to cure infection and to prevent respiratory tract complication.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
