What Is The Treatment For Diverticulitis In A 80 Year Old?

Hi, I care for my mom who is 80, she has tongue cancer and lung cancer, CHF, COPD and emphysema. She is on a peg tube for a year now. She was diagnosed with diverticulitis and is on 2 antibiotics and has had diarrhea for 3 days. He bp is good at 116\60, but pulse is 97-111, I think she is dehydrated, but not sure how much extra fluid to give her. her meds are Lasix, carvadilol, liprosil, cipro and another anti, I don t know right now. She refuses to go to hospital. any suggestions?

treatment of diverticulitis is bedrest and injection of antibiotics, which can be done at home also. no need to hospitalise if she refuse, but continue treatment at home. give wholemeal bread, flour, fruit and vegetable in diet. check for drugs (cipro and metronidazole) are going regularly. no need of operation for acute case of diverticulitis, treatment is medicinal and rest. continue oral glass water which contain pinch of salt untill she refuse to take further water.
prevent dehydration...
