What Is The Treatment For Itchy Rash In Groin And Inner Thigh?

For the past 2 weeks, I have had a rash that is intensely itchy. It began in my groin/upper, inner thigh area and was especially bothersome at night. It was quickly followed by elbows and tops of feet. Since then it is also around the back of my neck and spread farther on arms and groin area. I have no other symptoms. Any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
hello

it is very difficult to diagnose anything like this without seeing it. with your history, two conditions are most likely
1. tinea corporis (fungal infection) which appears as coin shaped round big red lesion, treated with 2-4 weeks of antifungal ( oral terbinafine) along with antihistamines

2. scabies, which appears as small, pin point raised lesion predominantly present over your hands, wrists, abdomen etc. This is treated by application of permethrin lotion for 2 weeks along with antihistamine

it would be better if you can share your photograph

Thanks
