What Is The Treatment For Itchy Rash On Jaw Line And Neck?
I'm 17 weeks pregnant. 2 days ago my jaw line and neck became extremely itchy with rash like bumps. It gets worse in the evening. I do have ezcema so I am use to constant itchy feeling all over my body but this is insane. And the area is warm to the touch without me scratching any of it. Please help.
I would like to keep a possibility of Atopic eczema of pregnancy(AEP). It is one of the pregnancy dermatosis.
Atopic dermatitis/dry skin related eczemas, tends to flare during pregnancy. Since you have a past history of eczema, it is all the more reason supporting the possibility of AEP.
Use a good moisturizer twice daily over the affected area
As a treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a moderately potent topical steroid over and above the moisturizer on the affected area, twice daily for a week or 10 days.
An oral antihistamine like Hydroxyzine 25mg (safe in pregnancy) twice daily would help you with the itch part.
take care regards
