Hi thanks for contacting HCM... Sickle cell anemia is hemoglobinopathy that can lead hemolytic anemia and so liver can be enlarged.... Investigate with peripheral smear and retic count to judge severity. Here by some infection like precipitating factors sickle crisis can occur... Folic acid given as supplement if needed. Hydroxyurea can given as they elevate HBF and help in crisis.... If needed then anti adherence therapy like nitric oxide might needed. Along with symptomatic management done. Maintain hydration...
