What Is The Treatment For The Primary Pulmonary Hypertension?

How long does it take to get completely over pneumonia after you have been hospitalized for it, taken 9 days of antibiotics (3 different kinds - 2 of them intravenously and 1 in pill form for 4 days after leaving the hospital). I still feel run down, cough at night, wheezing....tired of this. It's been about 3 weeks since I took last dose of antibiotics. However, I had to go back on steriods (5 days worth - steriod burst??) after leaving the hospital - 1 week later.

I am 52, weight 110 and unfortunately have Familiar Primary Pulminary Hypertension

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having post infectious bronchitis. It is common after pneumonia. And it is more likely when you are having underlying pulmonary disease like primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH).
So get done PFT (pulmonary function test).
PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis but it will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids.
At the same time control of PPH is also needed.
Available drugs for PPH are sildenafil, tadalafil, bosentan, ambrisentan etc. You should start any of these drugs after consulting pulmonologist.
Don't worry, with appropriate treatment, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
