What To Do For Hearing Popping Sound And Sharp Pain In Arm In Bicep Area?

I felt a sharp pain and heard a popping sound in my arm in the bicep area when I started to do a push up. I cannot lift the arm or move it to the left. It is still very painful when I try certain movements like attaching my seat belt, turning steering wheel to the left, etc. Thanks

Hi,

The sound you heard might be related to dislocation of the bones of the shoulder joints associated with possible tendinitis (inflammation of tendines and muscles).

If you heard such sound within a couple of days, you should apply cold clothing to the pain area. Otherwise, you should apply warm clothing, and analgesic cream to reduce pain and inflammation.

Do limit the movements of your arm for some days until improvement.

If you will not notice any improvement within a week, I suggest to consult an orthopedist for further evaluation and proper treatment.

Wish fast recovery!
