What To Do For Terrible Bruise On Left Cheek When Laser Did Not Help?

Hi... I fell on Nov 30th 2012.. On my wooden staircase I hit one stair and had a terrible bruise on my left cheek but after a week I developed a lump with an indent below the lump. I have been going to physio therapy doing laser and massage but it seems to not be getting any better?! It s been a total of 5 weeks now and I m worried what is this lump and dent? What to do? Will it go away? Do I need it drained? Plastic surgery?

Hi,

You should be evaluated by a plastic surgeon to see if you really need plastic surgery.

You should have applied cold-icy compresses to the place of bruising. Possibly, the lump could be a hematoma (accumulative blood) which should be removed surgically or by applying local anti-clotting cream/ointments.

I strongly suggest to get checked by and orthopedist to decide for the best treatment strategy.

All the best!
