What Was The Outcome Of The Recent Study With The Combination Of Copoxane And Lipitor To Reduce MS Pain/flare?

My 48 yr old wife with MS is currently experiencing a flare up with a higher than normal degree of pain in fingers/hands and feet/legs. This pain on all limbs is partly due to spasticity as her muscles tighten, and what she describes as feeling like ongoing paper cuts in her fingers. She has been taking Flexeril and Tizanidine, among other meds, but after seeing her doctor this morning--the Tizanidine was changed over to Tramadol in the hopes of reducing the pain. In addition, her doctor took her off Lipitor due to the possibility of the muscle spasticity being a side effect of the Lipitor. After reading this afternoon, I learned there were studies several years ago showing a combination of Copoxane and Lipitor in small does each, as showing promise. What has recent studies shown on that combination of drugs to help reduce MS pain/flare ups.....AND....how likely is it that Lipitor, when used by itself could have help expedite the symptoms of MS in my wife?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand your worry for your wife, in MS there is episode that comes and go with uncertain time period any analgesic gives good results, my certain patients doe not take any pain killing medicine but they just wait for the episode to be finished, once the episode overs the pain also subsides, I would advise not to give her any potent analgesic instead moral support would work very nicely, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
