i am 77 years old and something is protruding outside my vagina. ob-gyne said it's my uterus. it goes out even after pushed back in. should i undergo surgery as i have a high bp and is diabetic? what are my chances? what kind of specialist should handle my case?
Hi, You are having prolapse of uterus (procidentia ) which occurs due to weakness of ligaments supporting it ( mostly uterosacral ligament) . As you are having raised blood pressure which will be controlled by oral anti hypertensive drug n raise blood sugar level will be controlled with insulin injection .After controlling them and made fit for surgery definitive procedure would be performed depending upon condition ( probably hysterectomy). So visit GYNECOLOGY clinic for further management where operation for prolaps of uterus is performed ( Manchester's , sacrohysteropexy, ......etc).
Hope this ll help
