White Heads On Buttocks, Painful, Popped. What Is It?
My 2 year old has recently started developing white heads on his butt and they cause him pain he fears getting his butt changed. We're pretty quick to change him when he is dirty and he gets bath typically 3 times a week ( through out the week) Should i be concerned, should i get him into his Dr.? He had one come up a few months back that i attempted to pop and was successful but at his expense. His butt cleared up for a month and now he has i think 4 on his butt now, should i not attempt to pop them again?
The description provided by you suggests carbuncles developing at the buttocks. They are very painful and would require a course of antibiotic and incision and drainage (instead of the pop that you do manually). It shall be better to get your son investigated to know the cause of the recurrence of the infection.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
If the skin lesions on the butt are inflammed and pus filled then to drain the pus is a good idea but under the supervision of a qualified doctor. However along with that he would also require oral antibiotics to stop infection from spreading. So kindly get him examined by his regular doctor.
In addition for maintaining good hygiene child must be given a bath every day .This might reduce his getting recurrent skin infections in future.
