Why PCR Is Done For Kochs Abdomen ?

Hi, i am 22 female, had a complain of bacterial vaginosis since last 1year and chronic swelling in my abdominal region since last one month, have consulted a gynaecologist. She had asked me to undergo certain test like cbp,cue,thyroid profile,whole abdomen US. In ultrasound report it confirms acsites* but they are unsure about kochs abdomen. Can you please aknowledge me about this, is some thing serious? what is Pcr for kochs? why it is done?

well koch s abdomen is collection of fluid in the peritoneal cavity due to tuberculosis and can be confirmed by mountex test ,...and u should consult gynaecologist soon

Ascitis means collection of fluid in the abdominal cavity.It can be due to tuberculosis which is called Koch's abdomen. You can confirm the diagnosis by ESR, Mantoux test and IgG and IgM antibody levels in your body. Abdominal T.B. is serious and needs immediate treatment.
