Why Am I Having Only One Period In Each Year?

Hi, I am a 54 year old female and I have problems with a period every year seemingly. I stopped having one at 41 and in 2010 I started back having one maybe each year. I have had two D&C s and now it has happened again . It has been a year since the last one. What could be the cause?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The decreased frequency of periods that you have is due to menopausal changes in your body. You can get your serum FSH levels evaluated to find the levels.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
