Why Do I Have Burning Sensation After Bowel Movement?

I have extreme burning after a bowel movement. This has been going about for about 2 weeks. I went to the doctor and she said it was a fissure. I dont think so becaause it feels as if my anus is swollen She told me to insert some petroleum jelly and when I do. It hurts extremely bad. I have been eating salads and high fiber for two weeks and it still will not go away.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain burning sensation after bowel movements can be due to causes like anal fissure that is due to tear in the mucosa of the anal canal also known as Anoderm..
It can also be due to Internal Hemorrhoids or piles..
I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Anoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of anal fissure you can be advised to apply ointment containing Calcium Channel Blocker like Diltizem..
You can also apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine..
You should also do sitz bath that is sitting in a warm water tub 2 to 3 times a day..
You should also take a high fibre diet and also take stool softener like Docusate..
In case of Hemorrhoid you need to apply a steroid and numbing gel along with sitz bath and high fibre diet..
Drink plenty of water..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
