Why Does One Hear Children S Voices?

For the past two years I have been hearing my children s voices. They are always calling out for me. It seems like it happens the most when I am in the shower or using the bathroom. I feel like I am going crazy. I know all three children are at school but yet I hear them throughout the day crying, or fighting, or just yelling for Mommy . I am not stressed and I get plenty of sleep. I do not drink nor do I do drugs. What could this be?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi..what you are having are called auditory hallucinations. These could be a symptom of a psychological illness or a type of seizure disorder. I suggest you consult a psychiatrist first and if everything is ok, consult a neurologist and get an EEG done.
