Why Hasn T Injury To Trap Muscle Healed Yet?

Hi the last sports injury doctor told me i tore my trap 3 months ago, swelling is about half way gone, won t go away fully. When moving through full range of moition i hit muscle failure for a second. He told me it should have healed within the first couple of weeks.
