Why Is Pain In Knee After An Injury Not Subsiding?

Hi, I managed to hit my knee on a cabinet, it wasn t a hard hit, but it awkwardly hit the corner of a draw. It was incredibly painful briefly, but it s felt okay after a bit. Putting pressure on it hurts and touching it is sensitive. It hurts especially to walk upstairs. It s midnight where I am and I don t fancy a trip to A&E but any recommendations for tonight?

Hi...

Your knee pain is due to sudden hit injuring the soft tissue structures in the knee..

I recommend you to kindly do...

Lot of icing on the painful area for 10 min....
Keep it compressed with a compression bandage..
If you have some Anti inflammatory medications prescribed to you earlier have them....
Dont walk too much...
Gently knead in the front thigh muscles...

Hope this is helpful for you..
Revert back in case you need any further clarification....
I find this answer helpful
