Why My 18 Months Old Passing Green Mucous Stool?

My daughter is 18 months old and passes green mucousy stool often followed by watery green stool. Stool RE & CS had found only mucous and reducing sbstances only on number of occassions. Doctor prscribed EUGI & Ratodil sachet two times a day, Neopeptine 2.5 ml after food two times and ZN 20 / Zinconia 2.5 ml once. If the situation get worst then Taxim O antibiotic for 5 days. This generally cures the situation but my question is why it is happening again and again. She is given only home made foods like rice dal, roti sabji fruits and breast feeding though during this kind of situation we only feed her on rice and breast milk.
I am very much worried for the repetation of her greenish diarrhoea. Please advice.

regards,

Prasenjit

Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for the query.
First of all let me tell you that there is nothing abnormal about recurrent episodes of green stool if there is steady weight gain,
No fever, other activities are normal.
It all depends on time taken by food in the gut and it's interaction with bile.
If the time in the gut is less stool will be yellow, if time is more it can be greenish.
Also keep in mind that though you are taking all the precautions but child put in mouth whatever comes to his hand which may introduce infection in stomach causing such problem.
Don't worry it will become normal as the age advances.
Hope i helped you.
