Why My Son Is Passing White Stools?

My 2 year old son has had pale/white stools for approximately 4 days now. He was sick with vomitting and diarrhea for the previous 4 days. His doctor said it was just a virus and there was nothing we could do. The vomitting and diarrhea has passed. The pale stools started very soft and are now quite hard. He is very gassy and bloated and is burping a lot. Is this a result of the virus, or maybe a milk intollerance, or does it definately mean something more serious?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

By what you quote I feel it is an evolving hepatitis A infection. I suggest you get him evaluated for jaundice and pale stools. You can do a Hepatitis A IgM levels.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
