Will Pepto Or Immodium Help Curb The Loose Bowels?

I live at 900 ft of alttitude in the Midwest but am an avid climber of the Colorado 14ers. I try to acclimatize and take Acetazolamide starting two days before reaching altitude, but invariably i get tremendous gas and loose-to-liquid bowel movements anytime I exceed 10,000 ft. And not just once but several times during the climb.

Besides drinking plenty of fluids, will Pepto or Immodium help curb the loose bowels? I am not so worried about the HAFE but the frequent movements cause irritation and a distraction. Any other suggestions?

thanks.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is better not to check diarrhea because this may cause the distension of abdomen due to paralytic ileus, more over such condition of diarrhea is self limiting but great care need to be taken for dehydration else it is nothing to worry hope this information helps.
