Will A Break Due To Surgery Regress Exercise And Weight Goals?

I work out six days a week combining weight training, aerobic, anaerobic and interval cardio and pilates/yoga stretch routines. I have to have surgery next month and have been advised that I shouldn't lift anything over five pounds or do any form of exercise for up to eight weeks. Will this completely ruin my progress and in fact cause me to regress with regard to my exercise and weight goals?

In any case Your surgeon has rightly advised you not to lift anything over five pounds or do any form of exercise for up to eight weeks .
