Will An Open Wound Caused By Stitches Not Holding Together Heal By Itself?

After tummy tuck last year I noticed my belly button was a little off-centre, so I went back and had a minor dressing to correct that, a small piece of skin (epidermis) was removed and stitches nearer to the belly button, but now I see that the stitches did not hold and I have an open open wound near the belly button, am not sure if I should go back to see a doctor, or it is read and am so worried I know that it will not close again. Should I consult a doctor or wait maybe it will heal itself? I am 38, around 164cm height, and in perfect health.
