Will Change In Medications Cause Stomach Burning And Intestinal Gas?

I have a lot of stomach burning and intestinal gas. Could it be because of the change in medications? I now take pantoprazol instead of Prevacid and since the change I have had these problems. I have an umbilical hernia and was wondering if that could be the cause.
