Will I Lose My Nail Forever As It Looks Bluish White After Smashing Occurred While Closing My Car Trunk?

I smashed my little fingertip closing my car trunk and had to pull it out. Used ice, is swollen and bruised. Kept ice on the nail at the bed where it was turning purple and on the finger pad underneath the impact cut because the fingertip looked white unless I rubbed it during the ice treatment. Tip is numb and it no longer hurts much.

Now the nail looks bluish white and sort of dead underneath. The finger was hit diagonally across the left side of the nail bed.

Will I lose this nail forever?

Hi,
From history it seems that you are having crushing injury on finger tip giving rise to nail bed injury with soft tissue injury.
Go for one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course for 3 days to prevent nail bed infection.
Apply antibiotic cream locally with proper cleaning.
Nail will be saved and if nail came out, nothing to worry, new nail will be erupted.
