Will It Be Safe To Take Synthroid For Thyroidectomy?
Hi, I had a thyroidectomy but while waiting for my appointment to see an endocrinologist my Family doctor put me on Synthroid 100 mg. I still feel very tired and wonders if it should be increased. What mg of medication should you be started on after surgery?

Good day.
What was the indication for thyroidectomy and what was the biopsy report.
The dose of synthroid is based on these. If biopsy was benign, then you will need normal replacement dose. What is your weight and age? Dose is ased on this. 100 mcg is a decent dose and you may need to check your TSH after 6 weeks to modify the dose.
It might take few days to rech a good blood level and please wait for fe days more
