Will Steroid Patch Be Helpful In Treating Pain Due To Muscle Inflammation?

An MRI showed mild to intermediate grade diffuse degenerative chondromalacia. I have sharp pain from area of sacroiliac to butt to hip on right side only when I bend to right or put weight on that area or lay on right side. Pain does not radiate down my leg. I have done Phys Ther, chiro treatments and now dr suggests steroid patch to help discomfort. What will that do? I was told there was muscle inflammation.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Steroid patch will help improve your situation. If the pain persists, I would recommend trying gabapentin or duloxetine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
