Would A Temperature Of 101.2 Degrees Require Immediate Medical Attention?

we were at the park when my 5 year old son said he was too cold and needed to go home. i took him home and took his temp and it was 101.2 degrees. i gave him tylenol about an hour ago. now he complains about headaches and stomaches. his temp is still at 101. he also complains about being too cold too. should i take him to the er? thanks.

Hello. Thank you for your question. I a sorry your son is not well. Fever, even with the accompanying symptoms you describe, is not considered an emergency. It can be treated with a fever reducer. If the symptoms worsen, or the fever last more than 2-3 days, I recommend consulting a with your doctor.
