Would Burning Sensation And Bad Odour In Vagina Post Intercourse Indicate Bacterial Infection?

After I had intercourse, the next day my vagina started being irritated with burning feeling. I only have one partner now out smells like a bad fart smell. Could this be an bacterial infection because i had one once before but wanting to Know is this a different symptom of a bacterial infection

Thanks for the query.
Burning and pain after intercourse can also occur due causes like abrasions, post coital tear etc apart from infection.
But as you are having foul smelling discharge, there is possibility of infection.
If the symptoms persist, once consult gynecologist and get examined.
If she suggests go for vaginal swab culture and sensitivity.
With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
If infection is found out to be the cause, you may need one course of antibiotics.
Both the partners to be treated simultaneously to avoid cross infections.
If there is no evidence of infection and only abrasions etc are noted, local analgesic and anti inflammatory creams may relieve the symptoms.
