What To Do If Having An Impacted, Depressed Lateral Tibial Plateau Fracture And Doctor Cannot See Me For Another Week?

Hi. I fellon my knee a little over two weeks ago. Went to a doc in the box, they did an Xray and tehn referred me to an Ortho. He called for a 3D CT. The CT showed I had an Impacted, Depressed Lateral Tibial Plateau Fracture, 5 - 7 mm. His office has since called and he has had a death in the family and can not see me for follow up for another week. I am hobbling around on crutches, (uncomfortable). Should I be concerned about surgery? Is he going to just tell me to stay off of it for a while? Oh, I am a 49 year old female, with moderate excercise habits and an 8 year old, very active child. Thanks!

I have read your query.

You should consult other orthopedic surgeon as you definitely need surgery to fix lateral tibial plateau. Otherwise your joint will get destroyed and more problematic condition will result.
