4 Year Old, Reddish Rash After Drinking Gatorade Mustache. Underlying Cause?

My 4 year old son drank some orange Gatorade from a small bottle. Where he would normally get the Gatorade mustache he has a reddish rash that in non painful and no swelling. I am assuming this is an allergic reaction. What ingredient could cause this? He has had orange Gatorade before with no issues. He did run 1.5 miles for the first time at his school turkey trot.

Hi,

Yes, you are right, if the rash is all over his body, it might be an allergic reaction. Fortunately for your son, he is not experiencing severe allergic reaction such as swelling.

However, gatorade mustache leaves a red line under the nose (mustache-like), it might be not related to allergy but to any coloring ingredient.

Hope it helped!
