Extreme Pain In The Right Foot. Have To Drag While Walking. On Compression Hose. Suggestions?

My right foot is extremely painful. I cannot raise it when walking - I have to drag it or slide it with every step. I am supposed to wear compression hosiery (20-30) and haven t been wearing them daily because I have one pair and they re getting worn to the point where they need to be replaced. The area (vein?) that runs from the ankle bone to the interior section of the arch is swollen and lumped up where it is quite noticeable. This is the third day since it began. I am keeping the compression hose on for added support

it would be worth knowing if there is any notion of trauma or not. If not, is this the first time you are experiencing this pain? Is the pain constant or is only felt when you walk or there is mobilization.
Depending on these characteristics, this pain could be traumatic, infectious of inflammatory.
An X ray could be very helpful. Blood tests like a complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C reactive protein could be important in drawing the borderline between an infectious and a purely inflammatory source.
Visiting tour family physician for a proper evaluation and running these simple tests could be very useful in getting an appropriate diagnosis and drawing up a specific and comprehensive treatment plan.
I suggest you consult as soon as you can your family physician. For the moment, avoid hard and firm shoes and simple analgesics and anti inflammatory drugs could be of help.
Thanks and best regards,
