Have GERD, Given Omeprazole, Rebapimide, Itopride (agnation). Is Ganaton Dangerous?

Hi doc. I m bridget from philippines. I have GERD . I was admitted then after I check out from the hospital my GI gave me omeprazole (omepron) once a day) for 2weeks, rebapimide (mucosta) 3x a day for 2weeks and itopride (ganaton) 2x a day for 1week.. doc I just want to ask if ganaton is dangerous? Because as what I have read in the internet it can cause cardiac death and now I am afraid, and my anxiety starts of thinking what I have read

Hello.The drugs that your doctor has given you are correct for your patology(GERD).Itopride is a drug that improves the mobility of the stomach, reducing the reflux the stomach to the esophagus.Some common adverse effects are
diarrhea,rash or tremor.
About Cardiac adverse effects, other drugs that improve mobility stomach (cisapride for example)Its use was associated with cardiac arrhythmias. Itopride could cause, rarely,cardiac arrhythmias- but not-initially-
cardiac attack.
