A horseshoe kidney is a condition which can predispose your son to urinary and renal infections. If he has a fever, it may be advisable to obtain a urine culture and analysis at your physician's office. In some cases of untreated renal infections, bacteria can be transmitted to the bloodstream, so it is important to follow up with your physician.
