How Long Does A Dent On Forehead Take To Disappear?

My 7 month old baby fell out of his walker last week and got a bang on his forehead. When I picked him up I noticed a dent on his forehead but swelling quickly appeared and the dent seem to go away. He cried for about a minute and then started playing and seemed fine. We kept a close eye on him for 48 hours and he was fine. However, now the bruising and swelling has gone, I notice the dent is back. Will this ever go away. When I press firmly on it I can't feel any dent in the actual bone

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
The dent is due to fat necrosis in the area where he hit his head. Yes the dent will disappear eventually but will take a few months.
