Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
5 days ago....I tripped and fell, with my chin bone hitting a piece of angle iron (on a trailer)...with most of my weight behind it. It was, of course, extremely painful and left what looked like a cut, but never bled. Although it doesn t look that bad from the outside, barely bruised, it is still extrememly sensitive to the touch and now feels as though it has fever...this is probably 2 inches below my knew, with the blow being directly on my chin bone....should I be concerned...seems silly to go to the dr. for a bruise.
It is quite common after a trauma, and it will settle by itself. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. You can apply ice packs for faster healing. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
