How To Treat Blood Associated Diarrhea?

I got an IUD a week ago. Have had indigestion off and on since. (No normal bowel movements, painful, sickish ones. Dont know if related) Today Very painful abdominal pain, not the same as usual pain when having indigestion, higher. Also diarrhea and blood in it today.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
The history of having IUD may not be related to the present complaints as IUD can cause pain in abdomen but not the other symptoms that you mentioned.
I would advise you the following when one has indigestion, not normal stools which are painful and with blood:
Tests of stool, blood.
Get a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotics.
Also to take activated charcoal, PPI like Omeprazole.
Plenty of oral fluids and fruit juices to maintain hydration and electrolyte balance.
If required get Ultrasonography done to see whether IUD is in uterus or not.
If the above measures fail to give you proper relief, consult a Gastroenterologist for colonoscopy and further management.
I find this answer helpful
