Infant. Pneumonia, Problem With Breathing And Sucking At Same Time. Serious Problem With Possible Aspiration Pneumonia?

my one month old daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia. recently see just start eating but having problems with breathing and sucking at the same time. her doctor did xrays on her chest to see if she has aspiration pneumonia..my question to is ..will she be ok ..will she live if she has aspiration pneumonia...oh she has been in the hospital since sun day evening

Hi,thank you for the interest you show for HCM.Your one month old daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia and the infants usually have more respiratory rate around 40-60 per minute when compared to elderly child and there are more chances of Aspiration of feeds because of liquid diet,ie milk and increased respiratory rate and even goes beyond 80 per minute as it is a case of pneumonia.More care should be given during feeding.Generally,if it is with in reasonable limit,the baby recovers even though prolonged.The clinical situation as well the chest x-ray will reveal as well as guide the management.
