Is An Anteverted Uterus Based On My Report Reason Enough To Have It Removed?
I am Rajeshwari, 48 yrs old. i have my scan report says, UTERUS is anteverted, bulky in size with evidence of multiple intramurall variable sized uterine fibroids, largest measuring 6.2x4.0 cmr psterior myometrium, 4.0x3.0 cms in the lower posteior myometrium, 4.x3.3 cms and 2.4x.7 cms in the anterior myometrium seen distorting the endometrium. should i remove my uterus or there any way to get recover from this?
Anteverted uterus is a normal finding. The abnormal findings are the multiple fibroids and some are big in size. These are non cancerous uterine tumors and are common. Since they are big, they are less likely to respond to treatment other than surgery. So surgery is a good option. Non surgical treatment include embolisation, progesterone hormone analogues and Gn RH analogues to help shrink the fibroids. However the response is not good if the fibroids are big and most women end up with surgery.
