Is Continued Swelling And Pain In Forehead And Nose After Fall And Hitting Of Head On Floor Serious?
I fell on Sunday evening and hit my head on concrete floor, initially came up as a large swollen bump which bled for 20 mins. Kept ice on it for over an hour and swelling reduced. However, each day since I've got a large swelling above my eye, around the cut but the swelling stretches from the top of my nose. I did take skin off bridge of my nose, but pain is around forehead.
Continued with ibuprofen and ice pack, ice reduces swelling for a couple of hours but it then returns. There is little or no bruise and it's still fairly swollen and painfully almost 48hrs after fall.

Hi there,
I see lots of Head injury cases that come to the ER, with similar history as you have provided. I know at you are facing problem with the pain and swelling and probably worried about the scar.
The pain is basically because of swelling, so as the swelling will come down, the pain will also come down. For the mean time, I will advice you to continue pain medication and Ice pack application till it settles
It will be of real help if you could upload a photograph of the swollen forehead.

I find this answer helpful
No worries about internal bleeding if no recurrent vomiting , loss of consciousness , or seizure . but the swelling will take almost 5-7 days to return normal , other wise you have to consult a surgeon .
