Is Red Itchy Rash Along With Flu Like Symptoms A Matter Of Concern?

My daughter (age 21) has a red, itchy pin prick rash on her back, stomach, legs and arms. Within the last three days, she has experienced flu-like symptoms; headache, sore throat and fever. She was also exposed to hand and foot virus within the last week. Is this serious?
