I have this itchy red sore which reocurrs on the tip of my nose and just under left nostril and slightly inside, it is very itchy and very sore, last anything between 1 week to 2 weeks and goes away, started happenign about 6 months ago. Appeared last week, it gets bigger and scabby, this time started bleeding ...then yesterday was a tiny pimple spot, but today itchiness has come back and the redness is reappearing again. What can this be
this sounds like folliculits.
its a bacterial infection of the skin.
since you are getting repeated episodes of folliculitis, it is more likely that you are harbouring the bacteria that is staphylococcus in your nostrils.
so you need to apply bactroban cream twice a day in your nostrils for a week every month for 3 months. also apply it twice daily on the folliculitis lesion that appears on the nose.
