Noticed Blood Spots In Urine Diaper. Given Antibiotics. Concerned.
Hi doc, I have my 2 and a half months old boy who around 6 weeks ago, had this problem of blood spots in his urine's diaper. We took him to a doc and he gave him antibiotics, the red spots blood like in his diapers dissappeared until last week, we saw very light red spot in his diaper, and then today, one week later saw a bigger spot of blood in his diaper. Its sunday and am a little bit concerned about this. Am his father. Please give me some insight and advice on this.
Hi dear,
Blood in diaper which is minimal may not be a serious problem as long as the baby is growing well. It could be due to 1. minute trauma in mothers nipple which the baby might be swallowing 2. minute tear in the rectal region which could happen when the baby passes a bit of hard stools 3. Diaper rash if a bit severe can lead to blood. TO be on the safer side just discuss with your pediatrician on your next visit. But till then need not worry much.
Take care
