Noticed Rashes On Belly, back And Legs

Last night my 3 year old developed a rash on his belly, back and legs. Through the night he had a nose bleed. This morning the rash has spread, it s now everywhere. He has also had another nose bleed. The rash is like tiny pin pricks but some areas it looks like a cluster of rash. The rash is itchy. He has had no cold or fever.

Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your son is not well. Sight unseen, the symptoms you describe sound like a virus. Viral rashes, though sometimes itchy, are ultimately harmless. They can spread, as you have witnessed, and worsen before they get better. The nosebleeds could be due to the drying out of the nasal mucosae as a result of the virus. Typically, saline nose drops are all that is needed for this. To be sure of the diagnosis, especially the rash, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
