Severe Food Poisoning Followed By Strong Itchiness All Over Body, Sulphur Tasting Burps. Treatment Required?
Hello, I had a food poisoning perhaps from eggs . Severe vomiting , diarrea, muscle pains, heart burn , tiredness. After these symptoms had lessened, I started experiencing strong itchiness all over my body, especially hands and sulfur tasting burps. Is the itchiness part of the food poisoning? Should I let it pass or search for medical care?

likely that you had an food borne infection which looks to be settling
itching looks unrelated could be due to side effects of medication you took for diarrhoea
sulfur testing burps could be due to same stomach upset
if there is no skin rash and vmt diarrhoea has settled if u hav no fever then probably you can observe
take some antacid for few days and see

Itchiness can be caused by food allergy or most probable by jaundice. According to your symptoms it is possible that it was not food poisoning but HAV infection. This virus infection gets through food and affects liver. Because of liver infection it leads to liver cells destruction and jaundice. So if you have also dark urine and white stool, this is jaundice probably due to HAV infection.
It is advisable for you to have abdominal ultrasound, full blood tests, liver tests (AST,ALT, GGTP) and pancreas tests, urine analysis, bilirubin level.
