Should Be Worried For A Huge Bruise And Scratches In An Infant S Head?
Good Evening! My 11 month old just pulled a small desk over on him while I was throeing his diaper away. He has a huge bruise in the middle of his forhead (about golfball size) and a few scratches. He cried for about 5 minutes and is now a little irritable. Should I take him to the doctor?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I will suggest you danger signs of head injury - 1. Vomiting continuously 2. Seizures 3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose 4. Unconsciousness 5. Altered sensorium or behaviour.
If none of them are present, I don't think you should worry about his trivial head injury. For pain you can give oral Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose(max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
