my father is 83yrs old , he has no major disease like BP, diabatease or any heart related dis. 2 months back he was suffering from serious diahorea and was admitted to hospital now he is back , very weak, cant move himself, eat from tube, and with suctionn tube in neck, pls advivise
Dear elderly patients take more time to recover from diarrhea compared to young. Why because elderly people multivitamin deficiency is there low acid production, Decresed enzymes, atrophic gastritis etc... Decresed immunity delayed anti body production, delay mucosa recovery time. Use tab. Oflox Ornidazole 200 mg twice a day for 5days, cap. Gut OK twice in a day, use tab loperamide if severe diarrhea. Replace the fluid loss through ors. Check for electrolyte imbalances, renal function. If symptoms not improved consult your doctor.
