Vomiting Brownish Substance, Diarrhea, Lump In The Throat, Anxiety And Heartburn. Lower GI Endoscopy Suggested. Concerned

Hi there

Im a mid 30s female and yesterday vomitied two solid brown lumps that looked like small faeces. This has been preceeded by months of diarrhoea and regular lump in throat sensations along with increasing heartburn and some nausea. GP thinks it's anxiety. Hospital Registrar has referred for upper and lower GI endoscopy investigation. Should i be concerned and could this be anxiety? Thank you. Oh and i don't drink excessively (always within daily recommended amount), and stopped smoking 4 years ago (after 8 years of smoking).

Hello,
Vomiting of brown lumps is not normal and it gives a suspicion of bleeding.
Whenever there is bleeding in stomach,it gives a coffeee appearance because of action of HCL acid of stomach on blood.
You have been rightly referred for upper GI endoscopy.
Since you have history of chronic diarrhea, lower GI endoscopy ( COLONOSCOPY ) along with biopsy should be able to give the exact cause of prolonged diarrhoea like crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis etc.
Thanks
