What Are The Possible Medication For Symptoms Of Gerd?

54 y/o white female with HDL 80, Chol 230, LDL 80 had CT Angiogram in March. All clear but less than 20% soft plaque in 2 vessels. Also, small distal LAD myocardial bridge of unknown clinical importance (what the report read). Have history of Barrett's Esophagus. Cardio said not heart, probably GERD. Now having bubble feeling in throat, upper abdominal pressure, bilateral arms tingling (off and on), and left ear pain. Those symptoms have started after CT Angiogram. Symptoms prior to CT were: Chest pressure radiating to left side of neck and jaw (without exertion), fluctuating blood pressure, anxiety type feeling during "episodes." Have been told "heart" is fine. What about these new symptoms? Should I be concerned about my heart if CT angiogram in March 2011 was normal with no blockage? Thanks

Hi!
GERD signs and symptoms include a burning sensation in your chest (heartburn), sometimes spreading to your throat, along with a sour taste in your mouth, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) etc.
Your present symptoms like bubble feeling in throat, upper abdominal pressure, bilateral arms tingling are probably not related to heart, they might well be due to anxiety and overcare.
If you have a proven case of GERD your treatment options are:antacids,PPIs(e.g.omeprazole,pantoprazole etc.),prokinetic medication or reflux inhibitors(e.g.metoclopramide,cinitapride etc.) in a supervised and stepwise manner. If these fail you may antireflux operations like fundoplication either openly or laparoscopically.
Bye!
